Coaxial BNC to BNC Connector Good Connections 8140-WA, silver
Good Connections 8140-WA is a coaxial BNC-to-BNC connector with a silver finish, designed to link two BNC-terminated cables or to adapt BNC devices. The compact inline adapter provides a straightforward mechanical and electrical coupling for video, RF and other coaxial signal paths commonly used in broadcast, CCTV, laboratory test setups and AV installations.
The connector uses standard BNC interfaces on both ends to ensure compatibility with a wide range of passive video and RF equipment. Its silver-coloured metal housing provides basic protection and predictable grounding. The simple construction allows quick coupling without tools, enabling fast cable extension or joining. The inline form factor keeps signal paths short and minimizes additional insertion loss when used in compatible systems.
This BNC-to-BNC connector is intended for passive mechanical coupling and is not an active device; it does not provide impedance conversion or signal amplification. It may not be suitable where weatherproofing, locking beyond the latch mechanism, or specialized impedance matching is required. For permanent outdoor installations or extreme-environment use, a dedicated weatherproof or specialized connector should be considered.
Align the BNC plug with the BNC socket and push together until the bayonet lugs engage; twist the outer barrel to lock the connection securely. Use the adapter to join two BNC-terminated cables or to connect BNC-equipped devices. Ensure connectors are clean and free of debris before mating to reduce the risk of signal degradation. When disconnecting, twist the outer barrel to release the bayonet lock and then pull apart.
For reliable performance, use short adapter runs in low-loss coax systems and avoid introducing multiple inline adapters in a single signal path. Inspect connector contacts periodically for corrosion or wear, and replace the adapter if mechanical or electrical integrity deteriorates.
