Gateway Grandstream Networks GXW-4216
Grandstream GXW-4216 is a 16-port FXS VoIP gateway designed to connect analog devices — such as analog phones, PBX systems and fax machines — to an IP network. The gateway supports a broad range of voice and fax codecs (for example G.711, G.723.1, G.726), provides 16 RJ11 FXS ports plus a 50-pin Telco connector and offers Ethernet connectivity at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. It is SIP-compliant and interoperable with many SIP-based VoIP systems, enabling hybrid IP-and-analog deployments that preserve existing analog equipment while adding VoIP capabilities.
The GXW-4216 delivers high voice quality, support for multiple voice and fax codecs, and interoperability with standard SIP systems. It offers flexible dialing plans, easy provisioning options and advanced security features (including AES-based protection). With 16 FXS ports and a 50-pin Telco interface, the device supports high call volumes and is suitable for businesses seeking a cost-effective migration path from legacy analog telephony to VoIP.
Install the GXW-4216 on a flat surface or in a rack with appropriate mounting hardware and connect its Ethernet port to your network. Connect analog phones, fax machines or PBX lines to the RJ11 FXS ports or the 50-pin Telco connector. Configure network parameters and SIP account settings via the device web interface or your provisioning server, set dialing plans and codec preferences, then test calls and fax transmission to confirm correct operation.
Use the GXW-4216 in networks with a properly configured SIP server and QoS settings to ensure consistent voice quality. Keep firmware up to date, protect the administration interface with strong credentials, and, where required, enable AES-based security features for media and signalling protection.
