Drill bit set GRAPHITE HSS DIN 338 6 mm, 2 pcs
GRAPHITE HSS DIN 338 drill bits, 6 mm diameter, set of 2 pieces, are high-speed steel cutting tools engineered for general-purpose metal drilling. With DIN 338 geometry they provide reliable concentricity, stable cutting edges and consistent chip evacuation for workshop, maintenance and light industrial applications. These solid HSS bits are intended for drilling through a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals where durable, sharp performance is required.
The DIN 338 geometry ensures predictable drilling behavior and good centering when starting holes. Made from high-speed steel, the bits retain hardness at elevated cutting temperatures and offer extended edge life compared with standard carbon-steel drills. Supplied as a matched pair, the set provides a spare or replacement tool for repetitive tasks. The 6 mm diameter is a common size for fastening and through-hole applications in sheet metal and plate.
Clamp the workpiece securely and select the correct drill speed for the material being machined. Use a center punch to mark the drilling position if precise location is required. Fit the 6 mm HSS drill into a compatible drill chuck, ensure it is firmly tightened, and start drilling with steady feed pressure. For thicker or harder metals, apply cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce heat and extend tool life. Withdraw the drill periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes.
For best results, use medium to high spindle speeds for non-ferrous metals and reduced speeds with higher feed for stainless and hard steels. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for prolonged tool life and improved surface finish. Replace or re-sharpen the bit if chipping or loss of cutting efficiency is observed.
