GRAPHITE 55H864 is a manual sanding supply supplied as a single-piece roll of abrasive paper, 115 mm wide and 2.5 m long with P150 grit. Designed for manual and mechanical sanding, this sanding paper has a D-paper backing and an open coating of white fused alumina, which covers approximately 50–60% of the surface to reduce clogging and maintain cutting performance. The product is suitable for work on gypsum, finishing putty, wood, paint and varnish and is compatible with sanding trowels and orbital grinders when a compact hand-operated abrasive is required.
The open-coat abrasive layer improves resistance to loading with sanding dust, extending useful life during work on softer materials and coatings. The D-paper backing provides dimensional stability and tear resistance for manual handling and use with sanding trowels. The 115 mm width delivers a compact working area suitable for detailed surface preparation while the P150 grit balances material removal with surface finish for smoothing and finishing tasks.
Cut the roll to the required length to fit your sanding trowel or the sanding pad of a compatible orbital sander. For manual sanding, fix the paper securely to the trowel or hand block to ensure even pressure distribution. Sand with even, overlapping strokes and inspect the surface frequently to avoid excessive material removal. For mechanical use with an orbital sander, ensure the paper is compatible with the pad and follow the machine manufacturer’s safety and operational instructions.
For best results on gypsum and putty, use light to moderate pressure and finish with a finer grit if a smoother surface is required before painting or varnishing. Store the roll in a dry place away from high humidity to preserve backing strength and abrasive performance.
