Hama UV Filter 390, 72mm Black Camera Lens Protection

The Hama UV Filter 390, 72mm Black Camera Lens Protection is an essential optical accessory designed to safeguard your valuable camera gear while enhancing outdoor photography results. Crafted with precision for lenses featuring a 72 mm filter thread, this black metal-framed filter serves as a permanent shield against dust, moisture, scratches, and fingerprints. By blocking ultraviolet rays up to 390 nm, it effectively reduces atmospheric haze and eliminates unwanted bluish casts, ensuring that your color and black-and-white photographs remain exceptionally sharp and clear.

Advantages

This optical filter offers reliable everyday protection, extending the lifespan of your camera lens by taking the brunt of potential physical impacts, dust accumulation, and smudges. Because the glass is entirely colour-neutral, it does not alter the color balance of your scenes, allowing you to shoot freely without needing to adjust your white balance settings. It actively improves image clarity by filtering out invisible UV light that often causes distant landscapes to look washed out or hazy, resulting in crisp and well-defined imagery.

Suitable for

• Outdoor and landscape photography in bright daylight
• Coastal, mountain, and high-altitude shooting where UV radiation is high
• Everyday general photography and street shooting for permanent lens protection
• Both color and black-and-white film or digital photography

When it may not be suitable

This filter may not be necessary if you are exclusively shooting in controlled indoor studio environments where ultraviolet light and airborne dust are minimal. It is also not designed to alter exposure times or act as a neutral density or polarizing filter for creative motion blur or glare reduction.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your camera lens has a 72 mm filter thread diameter before buying
• Consider your primary shooting environments to determine the need for UV and physical lens protection
• Ensure you do not require specialized creative filters such as circular polarizers or ND filters for your specific photographic goals

Usage recommendations: Leave the Hama UV Filter 390 permanently attached to your camera lens as a protective barrier against accidental damage, dust, and moisture during all your outdoor photography sessions.
