Neutral density camera filter Hama 00079141
The Hama 00079141 neutral density camera filter reduces the amount of light entering the lens without changing color balance, enabling longer exposures and creative control in bright conditions. It combines high-quality lens glass with a rotary mount and screw-in filter thread suitable for lenses and zoom lenses. The filter also provides UV protection and is available in a compact 4.05 cm form factor, finished in matte black.
This neutral density filter allows continuously variable attenuation from approximately +1 to +8 stops (ND2–ND400), giving fine control over exposure length. The screw-in design fits lenses with matching filter threads and the rotary mount permits precise, individual adjustment. Single-layer coatings on each side help maintain image clarity while the high-quality glass construction ensures durability and optical performance. The filter also acts as a UV filter, reducing ultraviolet light.
Screw the filter onto a lens with a matching filter thread until secure, then rotate the front ring to adjust the density and achieve the desired exposure reduction. Check the viewfinder or live view while adjusting to set the optimal attenuation. For very long exposures, use a tripod and remote release to avoid camera shake. Remove or replace the filter as needed when lighting changes.
For best results, pair the filter with a tripod and use live view or an external meter to confirm exposure; avoid stacking multiple filters to reduce vignetting and possible image degradation.
