Fixed blade knife HELLE Helle #36 K36 with Scandinavian grind, full-tang, compact outdoor blade

The HELLE Helle #36 K36 is a robust fixed blade knife engineered for versatility in outdoor environments and everyday utility. Featuring a durable full-tang construction, this knife offers exceptional stability and balance, ensuring reliable performance during demanding tasks. The blade is finished with a traditional Scandinavian grind, which is highly regarded for its precision in cutting and ease of maintenance in the field.

Advantages

The primary advantage of the HELLE Helle #36 K36 lies in its full-tang design, which provides superior structural integrity compared to partial-tang alternatives. This construction allows the knife to withstand significant pressure during heavy-duty tasks without compromising the handle connection. The Scandinavian grind facilitates clean, controlled slices and makes the edge straightforward to sharpen using basic tools, which is a significant benefit for long-term outdoor use. Its compact size ensures it remains portable and unobtrusive while providing enough blade length for effective utility work.

Suitable for

• Camping and outdoor food preparation
• Bushcraft and survival tasks
• Light woodworking and carving
• General everyday utility cutting

This knife may not be suitable for heavy-duty chopping or batoning thick logs due to its compact blade dimensions. Additionally, users requiring a specialized serrated edge for cutting synthetic ropes or heavy-duty industrial materials may find the plain Scandinavian edge less efficient for those specific applications.

Key specifications

• Blade type: Fixed blade, full-tang
• Grind: Scandinavian (single) grind
• Design: Compact outdoor utility
• Intended use: Camping, bushcraft, woodworking

To use the HELLE Helle #36 K36, ensure the blade is kept clean and dry after each use to maintain the integrity of the materials. When performing cutting tasks, always apply pressure away from your body and maintain a firm grip on the handle to ensure maximum control. For carving or woodworking, utilize the Scandinavian grind by maintaining a consistent angle against the material to achieve smooth, precise cuts.

What to consider before purchase

• Check local regulations regarding the carry of fixed blade knives
• Consider the maintenance requirements of the blade steel
• Evaluate if the handle ergonomics suit your hand size

Usage recommendations: Regularly hone the edge to maintain its sharpness and apply a light coat of oil to the blade if it is to be stored for extended periods in humid conditions to prevent oxidation.
