IP security camera Hikvision Pro Series DS-2CD2686G2HT-IZS 4K
The Hikvision Pro Series DS-2CD2686G2HT-IZS 4K is an outdoor IP security camera designed for reliable, high-resolution surveillance. It captures 3840 x 2160 pixels and uses a CMOS sensor paired with a varifocal 2.8–12 mm motorized lens that supports 360° rotation and a wide horizontal field of view from 112.3° to 41.2°. Wired Ethernet connectivity and support for ceiling or wall mounting make the camera suitable for fixed installations where stable network connection and continuous monitoring are required. Detection distances extend up to 87 m in wide-angle mode and up to 216 m in telephoto, providing extensive coverage for perimeters, streets, and large outdoor areas.
The camera delivers 4K resolution for detailed image capture while maintaining efficient bandwidth and storage usage through optimized encoding. The motorized 2.8–12 mm lens with variable viewing angles allows flexible coverage adjustments without manual lens changes. Built for outdoor placement, the unit supports both ceiling and wall mounting and offers wired Ethernet connectivity for dependable data transmission. Native video motion detection enhances automated monitoring workflows and reduces the need for constant human supervision.
Install the camera on a stable ceiling or wall mount using appropriate anchors and ensure the housing faces the intended monitoring area. Connect the camera to the network via Ethernet and power it according to the installation guide (PoE recommended where supported). Use the camera's motorized zoom and focus controls to set the desired field of view between 2.8 mm and 12 mm and verify framing at both wide and telephoto positions. Configure resolution to 3840 × 2160 and set the frame rate to the required value (up to 30 fps). Enable video motion detection and adjust sensitivity and detection zones to suit the scene. Test the camera across lighting conditions to confirm image quality and detection performance.
For long-term reliability, use PoE-enabled network switches and route Ethernet cables through protective conduits. Position the camera to reduce direct glare from headlights or strong light sources and set detection zones to avoid frequent false alarms caused by vegetation or moving shadows. Periodically check lens cleanliness, firmware updates, and recording settings to maintain optimal performance.
