IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2547G2-LS Dome
The Hikvision DS-2CD2547G2-LS Dome is an outdoor IP security camera that delivers 2688 x 1520 resolution imaging in a compact dome form factor suitable for ceiling or wall mounting. Designed for continuous monitoring, it combines Hikvision ColorVu technology, an F1.0 super-aperture lens and an advanced CMOS sensor to capture vivid, color-rich images in low-light conditions. The camera offers a 360° rotation design with a horizontal field of view of 112° and a vertical field of view of 61°, and provides detection, observation and recognition ranges optimized for small to medium outdoor spaces.
The camera’s ColorVu system and F1.0 lens increase light gathering to produce clearer, more colorful footage at night and in dim environments without relying solely on infrared. The 2688 x 1520 resolution and 30 fps frame rate support smooth video and accurate motion capture. Rugged outdoor placement support, wired Ethernet connectivity and a compact black dome housing enable discreet installation on ceilings or walls. Built-in video motion detection reduces the need for continuous manual monitoring by triggering alerts when activity is detected.
Install the camera on a stable ceiling or wall surface using appropriate anchors and the manufacturer’s mounting template to ensure the desired 360° orientation and optimal field of view. Connect the device to your network using a wired Ethernet connection and configure network settings, time, and recording parameters via the Hikvision configuration interface or compatible NVR/DVR. Adjust the camera’s pointing and rotation to cover critical areas, set motion detection zones and sensitivity, and confirm that ColorVu imaging provides the required nighttime color detail. Perform a test recording at different times of day to verify exposure, framing and alert triggers.
Place the camera at a height and angle that balances wide coverage with sufficient detail for identification; avoid pointing directly at strong light sources. For reliable outdoor performance, ensure cable entry points are sealed and use surge protection on the Ethernet link if the network is exposed to outdoor conditions. Regularly review recorded footage and adjust motion detection zones and sensitivity to reduce false alarms while maintaining useful alerts.
