Handheld refractometer designed to measure sugar content (Brix) in fruits, vegetables, wines and soft drinks. How to use

Open the prism cover and wipe the prism surface gently with the supplied cloth. Use the pipette to place a few drops of the sample solution on the prism, then close the prism cover carefully to avoid air bubbles. Point the refractometer toward a light source and look through the eyepiece; adjust the manual focus until the scale is sharp. Read the value at the boundary line between the blue and white areas on the Brix scale. For calibration, use distilled water at about 20°C and turn the calibration screw with the included mini screwdriver until the reading shows 0.

Usage recommendations

Keep the instrument clean and dry when stored in its case. Perform manual calibration periodically or when operating temperature differs significantly from the reference. Avoid introducing air bubbles on the prism and ensure samples are at stable temperature for best accuracy.
