Back Saw högert technik HT3S296 9 TPI, 300 mm blade with mitre box
Back Saw högert technik HT3S296 is a hand saw with a reinforced spine and a 300 mm hardened blade designed for accurate short crosscuts and trim work. With a 9 TPI (teeth per inch) tooth density and a straight back that limits blade flex, this saw is suited to precise mitre cuts and measured joinery tasks. The set includes a mitre box that guides the blade for repeatable angle cuts, making it useful for woodworking, molding, framing and various DIY projects where controlled, clean cuts are required.
The saw’s reinforced spine keeps the blade rigid to improve cut accuracy and straightness while the 9 TPI tooth geometry balances cutting speed with smoothness for clean results in both soft and hardwoods. The 300 mm blade length provides adequate reach for common trim and molding profiles while remaining easy to control by hand. Supplied with a mitre box, the tool enables consistent angled cuts without complex set-up, reducing marking and measuring time for repetitive tasks.
Secure the workpiece in the mitre box so it cannot move, aligning the cut line with the chosen angle slot. Hold the handle firmly with one hand and support the workpiece with the other if needed. Start the cut with light forward strokes to establish a kerf, then use steady, even strokes along the full length of the 300 mm blade, allowing the reinforced spine to keep the blade straight. For best accuracy, keep the blade vertical in the mitre slot and use the mitre box to guide angle changes; periodically check the cut and adjust feed pressure to avoid binding.
For cleaner finishes on hardwoods, mark the cut line clearly and consider using painter’s tape over the cut area to reduce splintering. Maintain the blade by keeping it clean and dry; sharpen or replace the blade if cutting performance decreases. Use proper personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves when cutting, and clamp small or narrow workpieces securely in the mitre box before sawing.
