The Högert Technik 4.0 mm glass drill bit is a professional-grade tool specifically engineered for drilling precise holes in glass and ceramic tiles. Designed with high-quality materials, this drill bit minimizes the risk of cracking or splintering, ensuring clean and accurate results for every application. Its robust construction provides the necessary stability for working with fragile surfaces, making it a reliable choice for both professional glaziers and home improvement enthusiasts.
Advantages
This drill bit offers exceptional performance due to its specialized geometry, which allows for smooth penetration into brittle materials without causing structural damage. The precision-ground tip ensures exact positioning, preventing the bit from wandering during the initial contact with the surface. Its durable design extends the service life of the tool, providing consistent results across multiple projects while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Suitable for
- Drilling holes in glass sheets
- Working with ceramic wall tiles
- Creating mounting points for glass fixtures
- DIY home renovation projects involving glass or ceramics
When it may not be suitable
This drill bit is not intended for use on tempered or safety glass, as these materials are designed to shatter or resist drilling. It is also not suitable for drilling through metal, stone, or concrete, as these materials will cause rapid wear or damage to the cutting edge.
Key specifications
- Diameter: 4.0 mm
- Material compatibility: Glass and ceramic
- Design: Specialized tip for fragile materials
How to use
To achieve the best results, mark the drilling location clearly and ensure the surface is clean and stable. Use a drill with a variable speed setting, starting at a very low speed to create a pilot mark. It is essential to keep the drill bit cool during operation by using water or a specialized cooling lubricant to prevent overheating, which can lead to material cracking. Apply light, steady pressure and avoid lateral movement to ensure a clean hole.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify the thickness of the material to ensure the drill bit length is sufficient
- Ensure your power drill has a compatible chuck size
- Always use appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses
Usage recommendations
Always maintain a slow drilling speed and provide constant cooling with water to protect the integrity of the glass and extend the life of the drill bit.
