Thread Repair Kit for Lambda Probe Sockets, högert technik HT8G406, 2 pcs
Thread repair kit for lambda probe sockets by högert technik HT8G406 contains two repair inserts designed to restore damaged or worn M/V-style threads in exhaust sensor mounting holes. The kit is intended to enable secure reinstallation of oxygen (lambda) sensors after thread stripping, corrosion, or wear, helping to maintain correct sensor positioning and exhaust system sealing. The compact set is suitable for workshop or mobile repair use and supports common automotive maintenance tasks involving exhaust sensor mounting points.
The repair inserts provide a reliable metal-to-metal thread solution that restores original thread engagement and prevents leaks around the sensor housing. Inclusion of two pieces allows repair of more than one damaged socket or a backup for subsequent work. The design fits M/V-style sensor mounting holes without requiring replacement of the exhaust component, reducing repair time and cost. High tolerance machining ensures consistent fit for standard oxygen probes and improves long-term retention under thermal cycling.
Before installation, clean the damaged socket area to remove carbon deposits and corrosion. Inspect the damaged threads and select the appropriate insert orientation. Install the repair insert into the prepared hole according to the insert’s seating design—this may require gentle threading or pressing until fully seated. Refit the lambda/oxygen sensor by threading it into the restored insert and tighten to the sensor manufacturer’s specified torque to ensure a gas-tight seal while avoiding overtightening. If necessary, apply anti-seize sparingly on the sensor threads in accordance with the vehicle service recommendations.
Use the kit only on compatible M/V-style sensor mounting holes. Ensure the exhaust area is cool before working and follow vehicle manufacturer service procedures for sensor replacement and torque values. If the exhaust component wall is excessively thin or structurally compromised, replace the damaged part rather than relying on a thread insert. Dispose of any contaminated cleaning materials according to local regulations.
