Install AA batteries, place the sensor in a sheltered outdoor location away from direct precipitation and strong sunlight for representative readings, and mount it using suitable screws or brackets. Add the device to a HomeMatic IP system following the controller’s device inclusion procedure; once paired, configure measurement intervals and automation rules in the HomeMatic IP app or central controller. Periodically check battery status and replace batteries when the system indicates low power.
For accurate and long-term performance, position the sensor where airflow is adequate and avoid locations with direct solar radiation or splash from sprinklers.
