Socket 1/2" 36 mm 6-point, Honiton H1436
1/2" drive 36 mm 6-point socket by Honiton H1436 is a hand tool intended for fastening and loosening hexagonal nuts and bolts with a 36 mm head across automotive, industrial and maintenance settings. Built to work with 1/2" ratchets and torque wrenches, the six-point configuration targets the flat faces of fasteners for a secure fit and reduced rounding under high torque. The socket’s size and drive make it suitable for larger fasteners found on engines, suspension components, heavy machinery and structural assemblies.
The six-point geometry provides positive engagement with hex heads, minimizing slippage and protecting fastener corners. Compatibility with 1/2" drive tools allows the socket to be used with standard ratchets, breaker bars and torque wrenches for both high-torque tightening and controlled torque applications. Its 36 mm opening addresses larger metric fasteners commonly used in automotive and industrial equipment.
Select a 1/2" drive ratchet, breaker bar or torque wrench and attach the socket securely onto the drive square until it locks. Place the 36 mm, six-point socket squarely over the fastener head so the flats align with the socket faces; apply steady torque without sudden impacts to avoid damaging the fastener. When using a torque wrench, set the required torque value and tighten until the wrench indicates the target. For removal, apply controlled reversing force and, if necessary, use penetrating lubricant on corroded threads before attempting to loosen.
Inspect the socket for signs of wear or cracking before use; do not use a damaged socket. Use the correct 36 mm size and six-point configuration to reduce the risk of rounding fasteners. For high-torque applications, use an appropriate breaker bar and ensure the attached drive tool and fastener are rated for the applied torque. Store the socket in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
