Socket bit 6-point 1/2" 20 mm long Honiton H1520
Socket bit 6-point 1/2" 20 mm long Honiton H1520
Honiton H1520 is a 6-point socket bit with a 1/2" drive and 20 mm internal opening offered in a long length to reach recessed or obstructed fasteners. It is designed for use with 1/2" ratchets, torque wrenches and socket extensions to provide positive engagement with hex bolts and nuts. The long configuration helps access fasteners located in deep housings or behind components while allowing conventional hand or powered drive tools to apply torque accurately.
The 6-point geometry reduces rounding of bolt heads by increasing the contact area on flat sides of fasteners, and the 1/2" drive interface ensures compatibility with common workshop tools. The extended length gives extra reach without sacrificing strength, while the solid socket construction provides stable torque transfer. This combination supports reliable tightening and loosening of automotive, industrial and maintenance fasteners.
This socket bit is not intended for use with impact tools unless explicitly rated for impact use; repeated use with an impact driver can damage non-impact sockets. The long configuration may not fit in extremely tight radial spaces where a low-profile or slim socket is required.
Select a 1/2" drive tool such as a ratchet, breaker bar or torque wrench and fit the socket onto the tool square. Push the socket onto the hex fastener until it seats fully on the head, ensuring correct alignment to avoid slippage. Apply steady torque in the required direction; when using a torque wrench, set the required torque value and operate according to the wrench manufacturer’s instructions. If extra reach is required, use with an appropriate socket extension. Avoid using non-impact sockets with impact wrenches unless the product documentation specifies impact rating.
Use the socket with a properly sized 1/2" ratchet or torque wrench and, where required, a suitable extension. Clean fastener mating surfaces before use and inspect the socket for wear before applying high torque. Store in a tool tray or rail to protect the hex faces and maintain reliable engagement over time.
