Socket 12-point 1/2" drive 15 mm Honiton H1715
Socket 12-point 1/2" drive 15 mm Honiton H1715 is a chrome-plated 12-point socket designed for use with 1/2" ratchets and torque wrenches. The 15 mm opening and 12-point profile provide multiple engagement angles and a precise fit to reduce fastener rounding under higher torque. Built for automotive, mechanical and general maintenance tasks, this socket offers a straightforward solution where reliable engagement and compatibility with 1/2" drive tools are required.
The Honiton H1715 socket combines a 12-point geometry with a 1/2" drive interface to allow quick alignment on hexagonal fasteners and easier access in confined spaces. Chrome plating improves surface corrosion resistance and simplifies cleaning while providing a smooth finish that resists wear. The design supports use with torque wrenches, enabling controlled tightening and removal of bolts where accurate torque application is needed.
This 12-point socket is not optimal for damaged or heavily rounded fasteners where a 6-point deep socket or extraction tool would give better grip. It is also not intended as a substitute for impact sockets; avoid using this chrome-plated hand socket with impact wrenches or air tools that require specially heat-treated impact sockets.
Select the 15 mm Honiton H1715 socket and attach it securely to a compatible 1/2" drive ratchet or torque wrench. Place the socket fully onto the fastener, ensuring the 12-point recess seats squarely to prevent slipping. Apply torque evenly and avoid sudden impacts; if a specific torque value is required, use a calibrated torque wrench and follow the fastener manufacturer’s torque specifications. After use, wipe the socket clean and store in a dry tool organizer to protect the chrome finish.
Use the Honiton 12-point 15 mm socket for hand-tightening and controlled torque applications; avoid impact tool use and store dry to maintain the chrome finish. For high-torque or damaged fasteners, switch to the appropriate impact or 6-point socket.
