Socket 1/2" 12-point short 21 mm Honiton H1721
Short 1/2" drive 12-point socket, 21 mm, model H1721 by Honiton is a compact hand tool intended for use with 1/2" ratchets and torque wrenches. Its 12-point configuration fits standard hex fasteners and some double-hex heads, allowing engagement at multiple angles and easier access in confined spaces. The short length reduces leverage and clearance requirements, making it appropriate for applications where a full-length socket would not fit or where precise torque control is required.
The Honiton 21 mm short 12-point socket offers compact dimensions that facilitate work in tight engine bays, machinery housings or assembly fixtures. The 12-point geometry provides multiple entry positions, shortening the swing arc needed to engage the fastener. Designed for use with 1/2" drive tools, it supports accurate torque transfer when used with compatible ratchets or torque wrenches. The short profile reduces the risk of bending or contacting nearby components during operation.
This short 12-point socket is not ideal when extra reach is required to clear obstructions or access deeply recessed fasteners; a deep socket would be more appropriate in those cases. For situations that require maximum torque or heavy impact use, a dedicated impact-rated socket and compatible drive tool designed for impact applications should be used instead.
Select this 21 mm 12-point socket and attach it firmly to a compatible 1/2" drive ratchet or torque wrench. Align the socket with the fastener and engage the 12-point geometry by seating the socket fully on the fastener head. Use short swings when operating in tight spaces to take advantage of the multiple engagement positions. When torque accuracy is required, use a calibrated torque wrench and follow the fastener manufacturer's torque specifications. Avoid using this non-impact socket with impact tools.
Use the socket with hand ratchets or torque wrenches at appropriate torque settings, keep the tool and fastener clean to ensure proper seating, and store the socket in a dry toolbox or socket rail to prevent corrosion and maintain precise fit.
