Polarising Filter Hoya Linear Super HMC 58mm Black
The Hoya Polarising Linear Super HMC 58mm filter reduces unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces and enhances color saturation for clearer, higher-contrast images. Designed for use with cameras requiring a linear polariser, this 58mm filter is suitable for landscape photography and scenes where removing glare from water or glass and deepening sky color improves the final image. Constructed with Hoya optical materials and Super HMC multi-coating for durability and improved light transmission, it preserves overall color balance while controlling polarized light entering the lens.
The filter removes reflections from water, glass and other non-metallic surfaces while increasing color saturation and contrast. Its 58mm diameter fits lenses with matching threads and the Super HMC coating reduces internal reflections and flare. As a linear polariser, it provides effective polarization control for compatible camera systems without altering the scene's overall color balance.
Screw the filter onto the front of a lens with a 58mm thread. Rotate the filter while viewing the scene through the viewfinder or live view to adjust the degree of polarization until reflections are reduced and color/saturation reach the desired level. For the strongest sky-darkening effect, rotate the filter so the reflected light is minimized at a 90° angle from the sun. Confirm compatibility with your camera: use a linear polariser only with systems that accept linear PL filters.
Use this linear polariser for landscape and outdoor photography when you need to reduce glare from water or glass and increase color saturation. Check your camera system's compatibility with linear polarising filters—if your camera requires a circular polariser, select the appropriate PL-CIR version instead.
