Server HP Enterprise HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 4514Y 2.0GHz 16‑core 1P 64GB DDR5 8xSFF MR416i-o 4.8TB SAS 2x1000W PSU (EU)
HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 configured with an Intel Xeon Silver 4514Y 2.0 GHz 16-core single-socket processor and 64 GB DDR5 memory (2×32 GB). This 2U rack server includes an 8xSFF chassis populated with 2×2.4 TB SAS drives (total 4.8 TB), an MR416i-o RAID controller and redundant 2×1000 W power supplies (EU). Factory configuration provides 1 GbE network connectivity and a balance of compute, memory and storage suitable for general-purpose enterprise workloads, virtualization and database tasks.
The system combines a modern DDR5 memory subsystem with a 16-core Xeon Silver CPU to deliver improved memory bandwidth and multicore performance for mixed workloads. The compact 2U chassis supports eight small form factor drives and an integrated RAID controller for on-board storage redundancy and capacity. Dual hot-pluggable 1000 W PSUs provide power redundancy for business-continuity environments. Built-in management features of the Gen11 platform simplify remote monitoring and basic lifecycle tasks.
This single-socket configuration is not intended for very high core-count, dual-socket workloads that require maximum CPU parallelism or extreme memory capacity. Workloads demanding many high-speed NVMe drives or maximum PCIe Gen5 expansion and multiple GPUs may require different chassis or higher-tier configurations.
Install the server in a standard 19-inch rack occupying 2U of space. Connect redundant AC power feeds to both power supply modules and attach network cabling to the designated Ethernet ports. Use the server management interface provided by HPE Gen11 (iLO) to perform initial configuration, firmware updates and monitoring. Configure RAID using the integrated MR416i-o controller before deploying operating systems and applications. Provision virtual machines or database instances according to available memory and storage capacity.
For virtualization or database roles, allocate memory and vCPU resources to avoid overcommitment; use the MR416i-o RAID to configure redundancy and schedule regular backups. Keep firmware and iLO management tools updated and monitor PSU redundancy and drive health to maintain uptime.
HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 delivers a cloud-style operating experience that simplifies management across edge, core and cloud. A self-service console gives your team global visibility and actionable insight so you can move from reactive troubleshooting to proactive operations. Automated workflows streamline deployments, enable instant scalability and reduce routine maintenance—shortening windows and lowering operational overhead. These management capabilities are built into every ProLiant Gen11, whether deployed as physical servers or consumed via HPE GreenLake, and are unified under HPE Compute Ops Management to provide consistent, secure control across your entire compute estate.
Security is engineered into the ProLiant DL380 Gen11 from silicon up. HPE Silicon Root of Trust establishes a zero-trust foundation that helps ensure essential server firmware is authentic and free from compromise. Combined with hardware- and software-assisted features such as Intel SGX and Intel Boot Guard, the platform strengthens protection for critical applications and data in memory. Proactive detection isolates compromised systems—even preventing them from booting when malicious code is found—and built-in IDevID certificates secure edge deployments by default. Automated recovery processes quickly restore validated firmware and recover OS, application and data connections to return servers to normal operation as fast as possible.
The DL380 Gen11 is optimized for compute- and data-intensive workloads—AI/ML, telco, database analytics, VDI and containerized environments—delivering the core density, GPU support and I/O bandwidth these applications demand. Powered by 4th and 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, the platform supports high core counts and large memory capacities to handle heavy parallel loads. PCIe Gen5 expansion and OCP options increase data throughput and reduce latency, while 16 DIMM channels per processor and DDR5 memory deliver greater bandwidth and energy efficiency. Built-in operational telemetry provides real-time performance feedback and BIOS tuning recommendations so you can fine-tune the server to your workload needs.
When you prefer a consumption model, HPE GreenLake supports the DL380 Gen11 to simplify infrastructure ownership and management. With 24x7 monitoring and management by HPE experts, you can offload routine tasks while keeping deployments on-premises with pay-per-use economics. Flexible acquisition and consumption options help free capital, accelerate refresh cycles and adapt capacity as your business evolves.
