The HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10+ v2 Ultra Micro Tower — Intel Pentium Gold G6405 4.1 GHz, 16 GB DDR4, 180 W is a compact entry-level server designed for small offices, branch locations and home labs. It combines a 4.1 GHz Intel Pentium Gold processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory in a space-saving ultra micro tower chassis. The unit supports up to four 3.5" SATA drives, hardware RAID, dual memory slots and integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports, and includes a 180 W power supply and a lightweight 4.23 kg design suitable for limited-space environments.
The server offers a balance of compute performance, expandability and compact form factor suitable for basic on-premises tasks. Hardware RAID and support for multiple 3.5" drives enable local data redundancy and storage flexibility. Dual DIMM memory slots allow simple memory upgrades up to the supported maximum, while integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports provide straightforward network connectivity without extra add-on cards. The small footprint and 180 W power supply reduce space and power demands compared with larger tower servers.
Install the server in a stable, ventilated location and connect power and network cables according to site requirements. Populate drives and configure RAID using the server’s hardware RAID capability or HPE Intelligent Provisioning tools during initial setup. Install operating system and management agents as needed; HPE iLO and optional management kits enable remote monitoring and maintenance when deployed. Use the two DIMM slots to add or upgrade memory modules up to the maximum supported capacity following the manufacturer’s memory guidelines.
For reliable operation, maintain adequate airflow around the chassis, use supported certified memory modules when upgrading, and implement hardware RAID configurations and regular backups for data protection. Consider enabling HPE iLO and firmware Secure Recovery to improve remote manageability and firmware integrity.
