HP R9B33A is a ceiling- or wall-mountable wireless access point that implements the IEEE 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6) standard. It features internal antennas and supports Multi User MIMO to serve multiple clients simultaneously. The unit accepts power via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and comes in a compact white housing (51 mm x 203 mm), making it suitable for deployments in offices, classrooms and public areas where reliable, high-performance wireless connectivity and modern security are required.
The access point provides Wi‑Fi 6 performance with MU‑MIMO to improve throughput for multiple users and devices. Internal antennas and a slim, white enclosure enable discreet ceiling or wall installation. Built-in support for WPA2 and WPA3 security standards helps protect client connections. PoE power simplifies installation by removing the need for a separate power outlet at the mounting location.
This access point is intended for indoor ceiling or wall mounting and may not be suitable for outdoor or harsh environmental installations. It has internal antennas, so deployments that require specialized external antennas for extended range or specific directional coverage might be better served by models that support external antenna connections.
Mount the access point on a ceiling or wall using the supplied mounting hardware, connect a network cable that provides PoE from a compatible switch or injector, and complete initial configuration through the vendor management interface or instant-on setup. Configure wireless SSIDs, security settings (WPA2/WPA3) and any VLAN or network policies required for your environment. Position the unit centrally for the intended coverage area to achieve optimal signal distribution.
For best results, install the access point centrally in the coverage area, ensure PoE power source meets the device power class, and keep firmware up to date to maintain security and compatibility with Wi‑Fi 6 client devices.
