Compact film camera Ilford Sprite 35-II 35 mm ISO 200-800 Green Silver
The Ilford Sprite 35-II is a compact 35 mm film camera that offers a simple, reusable way to explore analogue photography. With a fixed 31 mm f/9 wide-angle lens, a single shutter speed of 1/120 s and a built-in flash, the Sprite 35-II is designed for straightforward snapshot shooting using 35 mm colour negative or black-and-white film. Lightweight and pocketable, it recalls the easy-to-use concept of the original 1960s Sprite while providing manual film advance and rewind for controlled film handling.
The camera’s fixed-focus 31 mm lens and single 1/120 s shutter speed eliminate the need to adjust exposure settings, making picture-taking quick and intuitive for beginners. Its built-in flash with approximately 15 s recycle time enables night or low-light shots, and being reusable reduces waste compared with disposable cameras. The compact dimensions and 122 g weight make it easy to carry for everyday use.
Load a 35 mm film cassette into the camera, advance the film using the manual winding lever until the first frame aligns, then close the back. Compose the scene and press the shutter button to take a photo; advance the film after each exposure. Use the built-in flash for low-light or night shots and allow approximately 15 seconds for the flash to recycle between firings. When the roll is finished, rewind the film fully before opening the back to remove the cassette for processing.
For best results shoot most scenes in daylight or with flash; choose films in the ISO 200–800 range to match the camera’s fixed exposure characteristics. Keep subjects at least 1 m away to ensure focus, and store the camera dry to protect mechanical parts.
