The InLine Internal Power Y-Cable 29672B is a power splitter designed to connect multiple SATA hard drives to a standard PC power supply. It combines one Molex 4-pin connector with four angled SATA power connectors and latches, providing reliable power delivery and flexible cable routing inside desktop systems. Cable lengths of approximately 0.40 m and 0.55 m allow placement of drives across different bays while maintaining tidy cable management. The cable is multicolour and intended for internal PC use.
This Y-cable offers a compact way to power up to four SATA drives from a single Molex 4-pin source, with angled SATA connectors that reduce strain and improve access in tight cases. Latching SATA connectors help secure connections during installation and operation. Two different lead lengths increase routing options and help keep airflow unobstructed by excess cable.
Shut down the PC and disconnect power before installation. Plug the Molex 4-pin connector into an available Molex power header from the power supply. Route the SATA cables to each drive bay and attach the angled SATA power connectors to the drives until the latches click into place. Ensure cables are positioned to avoid interference with fans or moving parts, then reconnect power and start the system to verify all drives receive power.
Do not use this cable to exceed the power ratings of your power supply or individual Molex rail. Verify drive power requirements and avoid daisy-chaining multiple high-load devices from a single Molex source to prevent overload. Regularly check connections for firm seating and replace the cable if connectors or wires show damage.
