SAS Cable Intel CYPCBLSLINTKIT SlimSAS to SlimSAS is a spare/accessory cable set designed for 1U and 2U Intel server systems (compatible with Intel Server M50CYP and Intel Server Board M50CYP). The kit provides power and data interconnects between the server board and a SAS interposer or midplane card; note that the system does not support using a SAS interposer card and a midplane card simultaneously.

Advantages

The cable kit includes multiple pre-terminated lengths to simplify installation in compact server chassis and to maintain correct electrical and signal routing. SlimSAS-to-SlimSAS connectors ensure compatibility with SlimSAS ports on supported Intel server boards and interposer cards. How to use

Identify the required configuration (SAS Interposer or Midplane) and route the appropriate cables from the kit. Connect the 125/355 mm power splitter to the server board 12 V power connector and to the midplane or interposer card power connector. Attach the 610 mm I2C 10-pin cable between the server board rear I2C header and the SAS Interposer card if the interposer is used. Connect the 250 mm SlimSAS data cables from the server board SlimSAS ports (CPU0/CPU1 lanes as labeled) to the corresponding SlimSAS ports on the SAS Interposer card, observing the VT → RA routing indicated by the kit markings.

Usage recommendations

Do not install both a SAS Interposer card and a Midplane card at the same time. Ensure the server is powered off and power cables are disconnected before installing or removing these cables. Use only the specified cable lengths and connections provided by the kit to preserve signal integrity in 1U/2U chassis.
