Network Adapter Intel E810-XXVDA2 f/ OCP 3.0
The Intel E810-XXVDA2 for OCP 3.0 is a high-performance network adapter designed for data center and server environments. It provides wired fiber connectivity over a PCI Express host interface and implements advanced offload and low-latency technologies such as iWARP/RDMA and Intel® Data Direct I/O (DDIO) to improve I/O efficiency, reduce latency, and increase throughput while maintaining compatibility with OCP 3.0 form factors.
This adapter reduces data-path latency with iWARP/RDMA features including Kernel Bypass, Direct Data Placement, and Transport Acceleration. Intel DDIO enables direct transfers between the adapter and processor cache to lower memory detours and power use. Hardware virtualization support such as PCI-SIG SR-IOV, Flexible Port Partitioning (FPP), and Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) offloads virtual switching and enables efficient sharing of a physical port among multiple virtual machines or processes.
Install the adapter into a compatible OCP 3.0 slot on a server motherboard that provides a PCI Express interface. Connect fiber cabling to the adapter's fiber ports and configure the host operating system with the appropriate Intel drivers and firmware. For virtualized deployments, enable SR-IOV or configure FPP and VMDq in the server management layer and hypervisor according to vendor instructions to allocate Virtual Functions to guest VMs.
Ensure the server BIOS, firmware, and network drivers are up to date and verify OCP 3.0 compatibility. Use recommended fiber transceivers and cabling for the intended link speed. When deploying in virtualized or RDMA scenarios, follow best practices for driver and hypervisor configuration to achieve expected low-latency and throughput benefits.
