iWARP/RDMA enables low-latency data center networking by providing Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Ethernet. The technology combines kernel bypass, direct data placement and transport acceleration to reduce protocol overhead and deliver faster data transfers. Intel® Data Direct I/O (DDIO) further improves I/O efficiency by allowing server adapters and controllers to interact directly with the processor cache, reducing memory detours, lowering latency and improving I/O bandwidth and power usage.
