Network Card Intel X710DA2BLK
The Intel X710DA2BLK is a high-performance internal network card for wired server and data center environments. It uses a PCI Express host interface and fiber connectivity to support up to 10000 Mbit/s data transfer. The adapter integrates technologies designed to reduce latency and improve I/O efficiency, including RDMA over Ethernet (iWARP), Intel Data Direct I/O, and hardware offloads that optimize virtualized workloads.
This network card reduces latency through iWARP/RDMA with kernel bypass, direct data placement and transport acceleration. Intel Data Direct I/O (DDIO) enables direct access between adapters/controllers and processor cache to increase I/O bandwidth and lower power use. Hardware virtualization features such as PCI-SIG SR-IOV, Flexible Port Partitioning and Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) offload switching and allow a single physical port to present multiple virtual functions while providing fair bandwidth allocation. Built-in Ethernet power management lowers idle power and adapts capacity to demand.
Install the Intel X710DA2BLK into an available PCI Express slot following your server hardware manual and ensure proper ESD precautions. Connect fiber transceivers and fiber cabling to the card ports according to network design. Install the vendor-provided drivers and firmware for the host operating system, then configure link settings, VLANs and virtual functions (SR-IOV/FPP) in the OS or hypervisor management tools as required. Verify network operation and performance after configuration.
Use compatible fiber transceivers and quality single-mode or multimode fiber cabling as specified by your network design. For virtualized deployments enable SR-IOV or Flexible Port Partitioning together with VMDq where supported by the platform to reduce hypervisor overhead. Keep firmware and drivers up to date to maintain performance, latency improvements and power management features.
