iWARP/RDMA provides low-latency, converged fabric services for data centers by enabling Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Ethernet. Key mechanisms that reduce latency include kernel bypass, direct data placement, and transport acceleration. Intel® Data Direct I/O (DDIO) Technology improves I/O processing efficiency by allowing adapters and controllers to interact directly with processor cache instead of system memory, lowering latency, increasing I/O bandwidth, and reducing power consumption. Features such as PCI-SIG SR-IOV capability, Flexible Port Partitioning, Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq), and Intel® Ethernet Power Management offer virtualization, bandwidth partitioning, I/O offload, and power-optimized operation for server networking hardware.
