Intos Mini SAS SFF-8087 to 4× SAS SFF-8482 with power cable, 0.75 m is a compact internal breakout cable that connects a controller or backplane with a Mini SAS (SFF-8087) host port to up to four individual SAS drives with SFF-8482 connectors. The cable includes an integrated Molex-style power lead for supplying 3.5" SATA/SAS HDDs and is intended for use in rack servers, storage enclosures and RAID arrays where a multi-lane Mini SAS port must be split to separate drives.
This cable provides a reliable internal Serial-Attached SCSI connection that simplifies wiring by converting a single Mini SAS 36-pin interface into four separate SAS 29-pin connections plus a power feed. Its short 0.75 m length reduces clutter inside server chassis and storage enclosures. The design supports direct connection of SAS hard drives to controller ports or backplanes without additional adapters.
This cable is intended for internal server or enclosure use and is not designed for external connections or frequent plugging and unplugging. It does not provide data-to-power conversion for SATA-only drives that require different power connectors; it supplies the common drive power lead suitable for typical 3.5" SAS/SATA HDD power inputs.
Power off the system before installing. Connect the Mini SAS SFF-8087 male connector to the controller or backplane port, and attach each SFF-8482 connector to the corresponding SAS drive. Secure the drives and route the cable to avoid sharp bends and interference with cooling airflow. Finally, connect the integrated power lead to the drives' power inputs and power on the system. Verify that the controller recognises each drive in system firmware or operating system tools.
Use this cable for fixed internal installations in servers or storage enclosures where a short, robust breakout from a Mini SAS port to individual SAS drives is required; avoid frequent disconnections and ensure proper airflow and strain relief when routing the cable.
