InLine FireWire 400 to 800 1394 Cable 6 / 9 Pin male 5m
InLine FireWire 400 to 800 1394 Cable 6 / 9 Pin male 5m
The InLine FireWire 400 to 800 1394 Cable (6/9 pin male, 5 m) adapts FireWire IEEE1394a (400 Mbit/s) devices with a 6-pin connector to a FireWire IEEE1394b (800 Mbit/s) controller with a 9-pin connector. The cable supports connection of legacy FireWire 400 peripherals to newer FireWire 800 controllers, providing a reliable wired link for cameras, external hard drives and other IEEE1394 devices. The cable is 5 meters long, black, and designed for stable data transfer.
This adapter cable offers backward compatibility between FireWire 800 controllers and FireWire 400 devices, enabling straightforward connectivity without needing additional converters. It features double shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and a lightweight, durable construction for regular use. The male-to-male 9-pin to 6-pin configuration ensures a direct plug-and-play connection.
Plug the 9-pin male connector into the FireWire 800 (IEEE1394b) port on your computer or controller and insert the 6-pin male connector into the FireWire 400 (IEEE1394a) device. Ensure both devices are powered as required and the operating system recognizes the connected peripheral. No driver installation is normally required for standard IEEE1394 devices; follow any device-specific instructions for initialization or safe removal.
For optimal performance, keep the cable routed away from strong sources of electromagnetic interference and avoid sharp bends. Use the 5 m length for flexible placement but minimize unnecessary extension to reduce signal degradation. Inspect connectors for debris before connecting and connect/disconnect with devices powered off when possible.
