Wide Lens Irix Cine Lens 11mm T4.3 Canon EF 0.27m Focusing Distance
The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 with Canon EF mount and metric focusing scale is an ultra-wide full-frame cine lens designed for professional cinematic capture up to 8K UHD. Its rectilinear projection and 43.3 mm image circle cover full-frame sensors while delivering a super-panoramic 123° field of view in 2.39:1 widescreen or a moderate wide angle on smaller diagonals. The lens features a shortest focusing distance of 0.27 m, a compact robust build weighing 1.1 kg, and a 95 mm front flange compatible with cine accessories.
The optical formula comprises 16 elements including high-refractive (HR), aspherical and extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to provide sharp imagery up to 8K with minimized focus breathing. A rounded iris gives a maximum aperture of T4.3 reducible to T22. The mechanical design uses a Multi Start Thread focusing mechanism for quiet, precise operation and an adaptive ring for comfortable handheld use and smooth compatibility with follow focus systems. Geared rings follow Mod 0.8 standard and are positioned to match other Irix Cine lenses. The lens also integrates a Magnetic Mount System (MMS) for quick accessory mounting; the included lens hood is the first MMS accessory. Durable magnesium housing and weather sealing protect the optics and camera in outdoor conditions.
Mount the lens on a Canon EF camera body and confirm secure mechanical and electrical connection if applicable. Use the metric focusing scale and the geared focus ring to set precise focus; the focusing ring offers 180° rotation for fine adjustments. Use the adaptive ring and follow focus compatibility for repeatable pulls. Adjust aperture from T4.3 to T22 using the geared aperture ring. Attach MMS accessories, such as the included hood, by aligning and engaging the magnetic mount.
For best results in cinematic production, use the lens on full-frame cameras for maximum field of view and resolution. Employ follow focus or remote focus control for complex moves, and protect the lens and camera with proper sealing and an appropriate filter or hood when shooting outdoors.
