Standard lens Irix 45mm T1.5 Cine MILC Black 0.4m
The Irix Cine 45mm T1.5 is a standard cine lens for MILC cameras offering a 45mm focal length and a fast T1.5 aperture. Designed to cover Full Frame and smaller sensors, the lens delivers refined optics in a compact, durable body and is available in popular mounts including Sony E. It features a closest focusing distance of 0.4 m, 86 mm filter thread and a black finish suited for professional and enthusiast cinematography.
The lens combines a bright T1.5 aperture and an 11-element, 9-group optical design (including HR, ED and ASP elements) to minimise distortions and aberrations while providing smooth bokeh from a 9-blade iris. Its internal focusing reduces focus breathing and preserves sharpness across the focus range. Weather-sealed housing, lightweight aluminium-magnesium construction and a detachable support foot increase reliability and handling on rigs and stabilisers. The Magnetic Mount System (MMS) allows rapid, threadless use of Irix Edge filters and a magnetic lens hood.
Mount the lens on a compatible Sony E MILC body and secure the lens support foot if you use follow focus or heavier rigs. Use the manual focus and aperture rings for precise control; the internal focusing mechanism maintains sharpness with minimal breathing. Attach Irix Edge MMS filters or the magnetic lens hood directly to the MMS flange for quick filter changes. For low-light scenes open to T1.5 to maximise light and bokeh; stop down toward T22 to increase depth of field.
For reliable operation in harsh conditions, keep rubber seals clean and inspect mount seals regularly. Use follow focus and matte boxes compatible with the lens gear diameter to improve repeatable focus pulls and reduce stray light. Store MMS filters stacked to save space and protect surfaces.
