Drill bit Irwin 10501934 Twist drill bit diameter 1 cm
Irwin 10501934 Twist drill bit diameter 1 cm is a general-purpose twist drill designed for cordless low-RPM multi-purpose drilling. With a 10 mm cutting diameter and a four-facet ground carbide tip, this bit provides reliable centring and consistent cutting action for rotary drilling in a range of common materials. It is intended for standard drills and rotary drilling only; it is not suitable for hammer or percussion modes.
The four-facet ground carbide tip reduces required drilling pressure and improves centring, helping to start holes cleanly and maintain accuracy. The twist-drill geometry offers steady chip removal and predictable performance across materials such as brickwork, breeze block, wood, drywall, slate, plastics and sheet metal. Its construction and tip design also allow controlled drilling in ceramic tiles without walking or early failure when used at appropriate speeds.
Install the drill bit securely in the drill chuck and tighten according to the drill manufacturer’s instructions. Select a low to moderate rotational speed appropriate to the material being drilled; avoid hammer or percussion modes. For tile drilling, start with a light contact to establish the centre, then increase pressure gradually while keeping the drill steady. Withdraw periodically to clear chips when drilling masonry or thicker materials. Allow the carbide tip to do the cutting without excessive force.
Use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. When drilling masonry or ceramic tiles, consider using water spray or cooling for prolonged drilling to reduce heat buildup. Replace the bit when wear or reduced cutting performance is observed to maintain hole quality and safety.
