Drill bit Irwin 10501954 Twist drill bit 6 mm for rotary hammer 1 pc
Irwin 10501954 Twist drill bit 6 mm for rotary hammer is a single-piece carbide-tipped drill designed for precise 6 mm hole making with SDS rotary hammers. The bit combines a patented extra-short carbide tip and a new single-flute geometry to reduce clogging, improve centring and increase drilling speed. Constructed using a high-temperature brazing process, the tip is bonded for heat resistance and extended life, while the shank is compatible with all SDS rotary hammer chucks.
The patented extra-short carbide tip concentrates the cutting load on the head for improved durability and faster penetration. Self-centring and aggressive concave cutting angles give better control and quicker bite into the material. The brazed tip is attached at high temperature for a reliable bond and higher heat resistance. The single-flute design increases debris evacuation capacity, reducing clogging and maintaining consistent cut performance. Overall, the bit achieves up to 20% faster drilling while preserving long service life.
Install the drill bit securely into the SDS chuck of the rotary hammer according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions. Use the rotary hammer in hammer-drill mode suitable for masonry or concrete. Start drilling at low speed to establish the centre, then apply steady pressure and allow the tool and bit to do the work. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear debris if necessary and avoid excessive side load or overheating. Replace the bit when wear or damage affects drilling accuracy.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye, hearing and dust protection. Match drill mode and speed to the base material, and avoid using a masonry bit for metal or wood. For prolonged drilling sessions, allow intermittent pauses to reduce heat buildup and extend bit life.
