Twist drill bit Irwin 10501991 — Ø 1.2 cm, for rotary hammer, 1 pc
Irwin twist drill bit model 10501991 is a single-piece Ø 1.2 cm drill intended for use with rotary hammers. Designed for standard drilling in masonry and concrete where an SDS-compatible rotary hammer is used, this metal twist drill bit features a patented extra-short carbide tip, a single-flute geometry and a shank compatible with SDS rotary hammer chucks. Supplied as one piece, it is suitable for replacement or single-job use.
The patented extra-short carbide tip concentrates up to 80% of the workload on the head for improved durability and higher drilling speed. The concave cutting angles and self-centering tip give easier control and faster penetration while the brazed carbide tip, attached at high temperature, provides enhanced heat resistance and longer life. The new single-flute design increases waste removal capacity by approximately 28%, reducing clogging by clearing dust directly into the flute and enabling up to 20% faster drilling compared with conventional designs. The shank is compatible with SDS rotary hammers for straightforward mounting.
Install the drill bit into an SDS-compatible rotary hammer according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring the bit is fully seated and locked. Use appropriate drilling speed and percussion settings for masonry or concrete and apply steady, even pressure without forcing the bit. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated dust from the hole and flute. Allow the tool and bit to cool when performing extended or heavy-duty drilling to preserve the brazed carbide tip and overall bit life.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask when drilling masonry or concrete. Match drill speed and impact settings to the material being drilled, and avoid excessive side loading to prolong tip life. Replace the bit when wear reduces cutting efficiency or when the self-centering action is compromised.
