Drill bit set Irwin 10502261, 10 pcs, 3 mm diameter
Drill bit set Irwin 10502261, 10 pcs, 3 mm diameter
Irwin 10502261 drill bit set contains ten identical 3 mm diameter bits engineered for precision drilling with standard drills. Manufactured to DIN 338 standards, each bit features a cylindrical shank and a universal 118° point shape suitable for a range of common materials. Ground flute design and precision-ground cutting edges provide accurate entry, fast chip evacuation and a clean finished hole, while the Quadro pack keeps the set organised and protected during storage and transport.
The set offers consistent 3 mm diameter across all ten pieces, ensuring repeatable results for small-diameter holes. Precision ground cutting edges and ground flutes improve drilling speed and hole quality. Compliance with DIN 338 ensures dimensional accuracy and reliable performance. The cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks, and the universal 118° point reduces walking on start, making these bits suitable for a variety of general-purpose tasks.
Select an appropriate drilling speed for the material being worked on and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Insert a 3 mm bit into the drill chuck and tighten firmly. Begin drilling with light pressure to establish the hole, then apply steady pressure while maintaining drill alignment. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips when drilling deeper holes. After use, clean chips from the flutes and store the bits in the provided Quadro pack to protect the cutting edges.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. For plastics and soft metals, use moderate speeds to avoid melting or clogging; for wood, higher speeds may be used. Lubrication can be applied when drilling soft metals to extend bit life and improve finish. Replace bits that show wear, chipping or loss of cutting performance to ensure consistent hole quality.
