Spade drill bit Irwin 10502816 Ø 25 mm for wood
Irwin spade drill bit Ø 25 mm for wood is a flat, paddle-style cutting tool intended for drilling rough holes in timber and other soft materials. The 25 mm cutting diameter makes it suitable for creating holes for wiring, pipes, dowels and general carpentry where fast material removal is required. The bit fits common hand drills and drill drivers and features a quick-change 1/4" hex shank for rapid bit swaps.
The design incorporates double cutting spurs that scribe the outside of the hole to reduce breakout and produce a cleaner edge. A thicker cutting edge increases wear resistance and extends service life when working with wood. The BLUE-GROOVE point and cutting edge improve chip evacuation for faster drilling and less clogging. A shank enlarged by approximately 10% enhances durability under load while the 1/4" quick-change shank ensures compatibility with most quick-change chucks and drivers.
Secure the spade bit in the drill or driver chuck so the 1/4" hex shank seats fully. Mark the drilling position on the workpiece and, when possible, clamp the workpiece to prevent movement. Start drilling at low speed to locate the hole, then increase speed while applying steady, moderate pressure. Allow the bit to clear chips frequently or use a backing piece to reduce tear-out on exit. For deeper holes, withdraw the bit periodically to remove accumulated chips.
Для продления срока службы избегайте чрезмерного нагрева сверла; при необходимости делайте перерывы и очищайте канавки от стружки.
