Locking pliers Irwin 25ZR, 225 mm length, 7 cm jaw
Irwin 25ZR locking pliers, 225 mm long with a 70 mm U-shaped jaw, are designed to clamp, hold and turn workpieces securely during metalworking, automotive repair, plumbing and general workshop tasks. The tool features an adjustable locking mechanism that allows variable grip and a stable holding force for temporary clamping and repetitive operations. Deep-throated and U-shaped jaws provide improved visibility and working space for sheet metal and awkward shapes commonly encountered in welding and fabrication.
The U-shaped, deep-throated jaw enhances visibility and access to the workpiece while maintaining alignment. An adjustable screw lets you set clamping pressure and fit to different shapes and thicknesses, and the classic trigger release provides strong locking force and controlled release. Constructed from heat-treated alloy steel, the pliers offer toughness and durability suitable for workshop and field use.
Adjust the screw at the end of the handle to set the desired jaw opening and clamping pressure for the workpiece. Position the U-shaped jaws around the area to be held so that the workpiece is aligned and visible within the throat. Squeeze the handles until the locking mechanism engages and the pliers hold the part securely. Use the trigger release to unlock and remove the tool. The tool stays adjusted for repetitive clamping when the screw setting is left unchanged.
Use the Irwin 25ZR on clean contact surfaces to ensure consistent grip; avoid using excessive force beyond the tool’s intended clamping range. For welding, keep the pliers clear of direct weld spatter and use appropriate heat protection to preserve the temper of the jaw material.
