Drill bit Irwin 4 mm twist 10501943 for rotary hammer 1 pc
Drill bit Irwin 4 mm twist 10501943 for rotary hammer 1 pc
Irwin twist drill bit 10501943 with a 4 mm diameter is designed for use with rotary hammers and SDS-compatible chucks. Supplied as a single piece, this compact metal twist bit features Irwin’s patented extra-short carbide tip and a single-flute geometry to provide faster, cleaner drilling of 4 mm holes in compatible materials. The brazed carbide tip and reinforced head concentrate cutting forces to improve durability and reduce clogging, making the bit suitable for repair, installation and light construction tasks that require a compact, precise drill tip.
The patented extra-short carbide tip transfers up to 80% of the workload to the head for increased durability and drilling speed. The concave, self-centering cutting geometry improves control and helps drill consistently straight holes. A single-flute design increases waste removal capacity by about 28%, clearing dust and debris into the flute to reduce clogging. High-temperature brazing at around 1000° Celsius with bronze paste secures the carbide tip to the body, enhancing heat resistance and extending service life. The bit is engineered to drill approximately 20% faster while maintaining high durability and fits all SDS rotary hammers.
Select an appropriate rotary hammer with an SDS-compatible chuck and set the tool to the recommended mode for the target material (rotary hammer/drilling with hammer action if applicable). Secure the workpiece, mark the drilling position and position the 4 mm Irwin twist drill bit perpendicular to the surface. Apply steady pressure and allow the bit’s carbide tip and single-flute design to remove debris; avoid excessive force or prolonged dwell at a single point. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear accumulated dust if drilling deep holes. After use, clean the flute and store the bit in a dry place to preserve the brazed carbide tip.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, dust mask) and follow the rotary hammer manufacturer’s speed and mode recommendations for the material. For best results in masonry, start with a slow approach to establish the hole and then maintain steady drilling pressure; avoid using the bit in materials or modes for which it is not intended.
