Jetboil Mightymo compact camping stove – Jetboil, model 25801, single-burner gas canister stove for backpacking

Jetboil Mightymo compact camping stove is a single-burner gas canister stove designed for backpacking and outdoor cooking. The unit delivers a focused flame suitable for rapid boiling and controlled simmering, and its foldable, lightweight construction supports easy packing for day hikes, multi-day treks or basecamp use. The stove uses threaded gas canisters and offers quick ignition to reduce time spent setting up and heating.

Advantages

The Jetboil Mightymo combines a compact footprint and low packed weight with stable single-burner performance. Its concentrated burner head optimises fuel use for fast boil times and efficient simmer control for simple meals and hot drinks. The foldable design and simple attachment to threaded canisters make the stove straightforward to set up and transport, while quick-ignite capability improves usability in typical outdoor conditions.

Suitable for

• Backpacking and lightweight hiking where compactness and low weight matter
• Day trips and weekend camping for boiling water and basic cooking
• Basecamp use when a single fast, efficient burner is sufficient
• Preparing hot drinks, freeze-dried meals and simple simmered dishes

When it may not be suitable

This single-burner gas canister stove is not intended for large-group cooking or situations that require multiple pots simultaneously. It relies on threaded canisters, so it is not compatible with liquid-fuel systems or remote-canister setups. Very high-altitude or extreme cold conditions can affect gas canister performance and may require specialized fuel or stove systems.

Key specifications

• Burner type: single, focused flame for boiling and simmering
• Fuel type: threaded gas canister (screw-on attachment)
• Design: compact and foldable for backpacking
• Ignition: quick-ignite mechanism for faster startup
• Weight category: lightweight portable stove suitable for backpacking

How to use

Attach a compatible threaded gas canister according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring the connection is secure and leak-free before lighting. Open the fuel valve slightly and use the quick-ignite control to light the burner; adjust flame intensity for boiling or simmering as required. Place cookware centrally over the burner for stable heating and monitor fuel level during use. After cooking, turn the valve fully off, allow the stove to cool, then disassemble and fold components for storage and transport.

What to consider before purchase

• Compatibility with threaded gas canisters available in your region
• Expected group size and whether a single-burner stove meets your cooking needs
• Operating conditions such as altitude and temperature that affect canister performance
• Weight and packed dimensions relative to your backpacking or travel requirements

Usage recommendations

Use wind protection or a low-profile windscreen when cooking in exposed conditions to maintain efficient flame and fuel economy. Carry spare canisters appropriate for your trip duration, and store the stove and fuel according to safety guidance to avoid leaks and degradation.
