Lens Hood and Rear Cap JJC for Sigma 56 mm F1.4 DC DN — 56mm, model SB8588
JJC Lens Hood and Rear Cap for Sigma 56 mm F1.4 DC DN is a two-piece accessory set designed for Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN lenses with a 56 mm filter/thread size. The bayonet-style lens hood mounts securely to the front of the lens to reduce stray light and flare while providing physical protection for the front element. The included rear cap snaps onto the lens mount to protect the rear glass and contacts during storage and transport. The set is made to fit mirrorless camera systems that use the specified Sigma lens and supports everyday handling, outdoor shooting, and safer lens transport.
The bayonet hood is shaped to block off-axis light and minimise lens flare without affecting image corners, and it attaches firmly for reliable use in the field. The rear cap provides a snug fit that safeguards the rear element and mount from dust, scratches and impact when the lens is not attached to a camera. Both parts are lightweight and easy to carry, maintaining lens balance and not adding unnecessary bulk. Materials and fit are specified for compatibility with Sigma 56 mm F1.4 DC DN optics.
Attach the hood by aligning its bayonet tabs with the lens front and rotate until it clicks into place; confirm the hood is secure before shooting. The hood can be used permanently during shooting or removed and stored when not required. To protect the rear element, align the rear cap with the lens mount and press until it snaps on. Remove the rear cap before mounting the lens to a camera and reinstall it when the lens is detached for transport or storage.
For optimal performance, use the hood in outdoor and high-contrast scenes to reduce flare, but remove or reverse the hood for storage if it supports a reverse-mount position. Always secure the rear cap when the lens is stored or transported to keep dust and moisture away from the mount and rear glass. Periodically inspect the contact edges and fit to ensure continued secure attachment.
