Wood Router Bit JOBIprofi 20 mm with Carbide Tip, Model W01120
JOBIprofi 20 mm wood router bit with a carbide tip is designed for trimming, grooving and profiling tasks on wood, MDF and similar composite materials. With a 20 mm cutting diameter and a carbide cutting edge, this bit is intended for use in handheld routers and router tables where clean edges and dimensional accuracy are required. The carbide tip increases wear resistance and helps maintain sharpness over repeated cuts.
The carbide tip provides enhanced durability compared with standard high-speed steel bits, reducing the frequency of replacement. The 20 mm cutting diameter delivers a balance between material removal rate and control for common trimming and profiling jobs. The bit is compatible with typical router collets used in both portable routers and router table machines, enabling a wide range of woodworking operations with consistent cutting performance.
This router bit is intended for wood and wood-based materials; it is not suitable for cutting metals, stone, or ceramic materials. Very abrasive materials or heavy contamination (nails, staples, or dirt) will accelerate wear and may damage the carbide tip. For large-scale material removal or heavy-duty milling on thick hardwoods, a larger diameter or different profile bit may be more efficient.
Select a router with the appropriate collet size and secure the bit firmly according to the router manufacturer's instructions. Adjust router speed to suit the material: use higher speeds for clean-cutting thin materials and moderate speeds for thicker or harder woods. Make multiple shallow passes rather than a single deep cut to reduce load on the carbide tip and prevent burning or tear-out. Use proper workholding, push direction and feed rate to maintain control and achieve consistent edges.
For best results, clamp the workpiece securely, take multiple shallow passes, and keep the carbide tip clean from pitch and resin. Regular inspection of the cutting edge will help determine when sharpening or replacement is needed to maintain cut quality.
