How to use

Place the FilmCopy Vario on top of the slimlite plano LED light box or another suitable light source and select the correct format mask or insert for your slides or negatives. Mounted 35 mm slides can be placed directly from above into the insert; for film strips open the pressure frame and position the strip using the guide ridges and adjustable stop pins. Fine-tune framing with the stepless masking strips, set the light box brightness to the desired level and secure the camera on a copy stand or tripod above the device to align and focus before capturing. Change inserts as required for other film sizes.

Usage recommendations

Use a tripod or stable copy stand and mirror-lockup or electronic first-curtain shutter to minimise vibration. Work in a dust-free environment and handle negatives and slides by the edges. For best color accuracy, set white balance to 5000 K or use a grey card and keep the light box dimming level consistent across captures. Store interchangeable masks and glass inserts flat and clean to maintain precise alignment.
