The Kanlux BS-2 fluorescent lamp starter is a high-quality component engineered for the reliable ignition of fluorescent tubes ranging from 4W to 65W. Designed for use in traditional lighting fixtures equipped with electromagnetic ballasts, this starter facilitates a smooth and efficient start-up process, which is critical for maintaining the longevity of the lamp and preventing premature flickering or failure. Its robust construction ensures consistent performance in both residential and commercial environments, making it a dependable choice for maintaining standard lighting systems.
Advantages
The primary benefit of the Kanlux BS-2 starter is its ability to provide stable and rapid ignition, which significantly reduces the stress placed on the fluorescent tube during the start-up phase. By ensuring the lamp reaches its operating state effectively, it helps to extend the overall service life of the lighting source. Furthermore, its compatibility with a wide power range of 4W to 65W offers versatility for various standard lighting setups, ensuring that users can rely on a single, proven component for multiple fixture types.
Suitable for
- Residential ceiling lighting fixtures
- Commercial office fluorescent lighting
- Industrial workshop lighting systems
- Public building corridors and utility areas
When it may not be suitable
This starter is specifically designed for use with electromagnetic ballasts and is not compatible with modern electronic ballast systems or LED tube replacements. It should not be used in fixtures that do not explicitly require a starter component.
Key specifications
- Power range: 4-65W
- Compatibility: Electromagnetic ballasts
- Application: Fluorescent lamps
How to use
To install the Kanlux BS-2 starter, ensure that the power supply to the lighting fixture is completely disconnected for safety. Locate the existing starter in the fixture, which is typically a small cylindrical component. Gently push and rotate the old starter counter-clockwise to release it from its socket. Insert the new Kanlux BS-2 starter into the socket, push it in, and rotate it clockwise until it locks securely into place. Once installed, restore the power to the fixture to test the operation.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify that your lighting fixture uses an electromagnetic ballast.
- Check the wattage of your fluorescent lamp to ensure it falls within the 4-65W range.
- Ensure the socket type matches the standard starter base.
Usage recommendations
Always replace the starter whenever you install a new fluorescent tube to ensure optimal ignition and to prevent damage to the lamp caused by an old or faulty starter.
