Kenko MC UV370 Slim 77mm Ultraviolet Camera Filter

The Kenko MC UV370 Slim 77mm Ultraviolet Camera Filter is a high-quality optical accessory designed to absorb ultraviolet rays with wavelengths shorter than 370nm while simultaneously protecting your valuable camera lens glass from dust, moisture, fingerprints, and accidental scratches. Engineered with a slim profile, this 77mm filter ensures that your wide-angle lenses remain free from mechanical vignetting, allowing you to capture expansive landscapes without unwanted dark corners in your frames. It maintains optimal image clarity, sharp details, and high light transmission without altering the natural colour balance of your scenes, making it an essential tool for both outdoor and everyday photography.

Advantages

This ultraviolet camera filter provides reliable physical protection for the front element of your camera lens, significantly reducing the risk of costly repairs due to scratches, dust, or moisture exposure. The multi-coated glass surface minimizes reflections and flare, ensuring that your images retain high contrast and clarity even in challenging lighting conditions. Because it effectively absorbs invisible ultraviolet rays that often cause hazy or bluish casts in distant outdoor shots, photographs taken near water, snow, or in high mountains appear much clearer and more natural. Furthermore, the slim metal ring design allows the filter to be used seamlessly on ultra-wide-angle lenses without causing optical obstruction or vignetting, and it requires no exposure compensation during shooting.

Suitable for

• Outdoor photography in bright environments such as beaches, mountains, and snow-covered landscapes
• Everyday lens protection against dust, moisture, and accidental scratches
• Landscape and travel photography where distant haze caused by ultraviolet light needs reduction
• Use with wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle camera lenses requiring a 77mm filter thread

When it may not be suitable

This filter may not be necessary if you are primarily shooting indoors in controlled studio environments where ultraviolet light is absent and lens protection is already managed by a dedicated lens hood. Additionally, it is not compatible with camera lenses that require a filter size other than 77mm unless appropriate step-up or step-down adapter rings are used.

Key specifications

• Filter size: 77 mm
• Filter type: Ultraviolet (UV) camera filter
• Product colour: Black
• Quantity per pack: 1 pc(s)
• Wavelength absorption: Shorter than 370nm

How to use

To use the Kenko MC UV370 Slim 77mm Ultraviolet Camera Filter, ensure that the front element of your camera lens is completely clean and free of loose particles by using a blower or microfiber cloth. Align the rear thread of the 77mm filter with the matching filter thread on the front of your camera lens. Gently rotate the filter clockwise until it is securely fastened, taking care not to overtighten it, which could make removal difficult. Once attached, you can mount lens caps or additional filters onto the front thread of the filter if needed. The filter can remain permanently mounted on your lens during your photo sessions to provide continuous protection and UV absorption without requiring any adjustments to your camera exposure settings.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your camera lens has a 77mm filter thread diameter before purchasing
• Assess your typical shooting environments to ensure that ultraviolet light absorption and physical lens protection align with your photography needs
• Confirm whether you intend to use additional filters simultaneously to ensure the slim profile meets your stacking requirements

Usage recommendations

Always keep the filter clean using dedicated optical cleaning tools to maintain maximum light transmission and image sharpness, and remove the filter when storing the camera setup for extended periods in extreme temperature variations.
