Neutral Density Filter Kenko RealPro MC ND1000 72mm
Neutral Density Filter Kenko RealPro MC ND1000 72mm
Kenko RealPro MC ND1000 72mm is a multi-coated neutral density filter designed to reduce incoming light by approximately 10 stops. With a 72mm screw thread, this ND1000 filter allows extended exposure times for creating motion blur in water, clouds and moving subjects, or for using wider apertures in bright conditions without overexposure. The multi-coating helps minimise reflections and maintain colour neutrality so images retain accurate tones during long exposures.
The ND1000 density provides significant light reduction for long exposures, enabling shutter speeds that produce smooth motion effects. Multi-coated glass reduces internal reflections and ghosting, improving contrast and colour fidelity. The 72mm thread size fits lenses with matching front threads and mounts easily onto standard filter holders or step-up rings. Solid build quality ensures stable optical alignment and consistent performance during prolonged shooting sessions.
Screw the filter onto the front of a lens with a 72mm thread or attach via an appropriate adapter. Meter exposure or use the camera's histogram to determine the extended shutter speed required for the intended effect, since the ND1000 reduces light by about 10 stops. Use a tripod to avoid camera shake at long exposures and, where available, enable mirror lock-up or use electronic first-curtain shutter to reduce vibration. Compose and focus before attaching the filter if necessary, then switch to manual focus to maintain focus during the long exposure.
For best results with the Kenko RealPro MC ND1000 72mm, use a sturdy tripod, remote shutter release or camera timer, and check white balance after long exposures. Test exposure times on location and bracket exposures when possible. Clean the filter surfaces with a microfibre cloth before use and store it in a protective case to preserve the multi-coating and optical quality.
