Variable Neutral Density Camera Filter K&F Concept Nano-X 46 mm, Black
The K&F Concept Nano-X Variable Neutral Density Camera Filter 46 mm in black is an adjustable ND filter that reduces the amount of light entering the lens without changing aperture or ISO. Designed for lenses with a 46 mm filter thread, this single-piece filter allows controlled light transmission to extend exposure times, create motion blur, or use wider apertures in bright conditions. The Nano-X model features double-sided multilayer green coatings and a design intended to avoid the common cross-pattern on wide-angle images, offering consistent image quality across a 3–7 stop range.
The filter provides stepless adjustment between approximately 3 to 7 stops, enabling flexible control of exposure for long exposures, motion effects, or shallower depth of field. Double-sided multilayer green coatings reduce internal reflections and preserve high-definition image quality. A hydrophobic and scratch-resistant nanocoating repels water and debris, helping maintain optical clarity under adverse conditions. The filter’s front diameter is slightly larger than its rear to reduce the risk of vignetting on wide-angle lenses.
Screw the filter onto the front of a lens with a 46 mm thread. Rotate the adjustable ring to change the density: turning increases or decreases the light reduction to reach the desired exposure effect. Use slower shutter speeds with the ND engaged to capture motion blur or use wider apertures in bright conditions to reduce depth of field. Check the viewfinder or live view for exposure and potential cross-pattern artifacts when using very wide focal lengths; adjust composition or density as needed.
For best results, start with a mid-range density and preview exposure in live view to avoid over- or underexposure. When shooting at very wide focal lengths, verify the image for any uneven darkening and slightly reduce density if necessary. Clean the filter using a microfiber cloth and a gentle blower for dust; avoid abrasive cleaners to protect the hydrophobic and scratch-resistant coatings.
