Camera variable neutral density filter K&F Concept Nano-X 49 mm (KF01.1447)
The K&F Concept Nano-X 49 mm variable neutral density filter provides adjustable light reduction for photographers and videographers who need control over exposure, depth of field and motion blur. Designed to fit lenses with a 49 mm thread, this single-piece filter in black finish offers a 3–7 stop range of attenuation so you can extend shutter speeds, use wider apertures in bright conditions, or create smooth motion effects without changing ISO or aperture excessively.
This variable ND uses double-sided multilayer green coatings to minimize reflections from both the filter surfaces and the scene, helping preserve image clarity and contrast. The optical design reduces the risk of the characteristic “X” cross artefact on wide-angle shots across its 3–7 stop range. A larger front diameter relative to the rear helps avoid vignetting on wide-angle lenses. The filter’s nanometer hydrophobic and scratch-resistant coatings repel water and dirt and withstand abrasive conditions for reliable field use.
Screw the filter onto a lens with a 49 mm thread until it is secure but not overtightened. Rotate the outer ring to adjust density: turning the ring increases or decreases the stop reduction within the 3–7 stop range. Use a tripod for long exposures to avoid camera shake and check the viewfinder or live view to confirm exposure and composition. When shooting wide-angle, verify that no vignetting or unexpected artefacts appear after adjustment.
For long exposures, combine the filter with a tripod and a remote shutter release or timer to minimize motion blur from camera shake. When working at the extreme ends of the density range, review images on-screen to ensure there is no unwanted colour shift; if present, adjust white balance in-camera or in post. Clean the filter with a soft microfibre cloth and a blower for dust; avoid abrasive materials to preserve the nanocoating.
