Smoke Detector KIDDE 2030-DSR — battery-powered photoelectric smoke alarm
KIDDE 2030-DSR is a battery-powered photoelectric smoke alarm designed for early detection of slow-smoldering and visible-particle fires in homes and small commercial spaces. The unit monitors the air for increasing concentrations of smoke and emits an audible alarm to alert occupants. Compact and simple to install, the detector can be mounted on ceilings or walls in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and offices to enhance basic fire safety coverage.
The photoelectric sensing chamber is optimized to detect larger, visible smoke particles produced by smouldering fires, reducing the likelihood of nuisance alarms from cooking fumes. Battery operation allows installation where wired power is not available and provides continued protection during power outages. The device features a clear audible alarm and a test/silence function for routine checks and temporary muting of false alarms triggered by non-hazardous smoke sources.
Mount the detector on a ceiling or high on a wall following the manufacturer’s recommended placement to maximize detection coverage. Install the supplied battery or a compatible replacement battery, then use the test button to confirm the alarm and electronics are functioning correctly. Perform regular manual tests and replace the battery according to the device instructions or when the low-battery warning sounds. Keep the sensing chamber free of dust and debris by following the cleaning guidelines provided in the product manual.
Install one smoke detector inside each bedroom, outside sleeping areas and on every habitable level of a building. Avoid placing the detector too close to kitchens or bathrooms to reduce false alarms from cooking or steam; instead, position units at least several feet away from cooking appliances. Test the alarm monthly, replace batteries at least once a year or when low-battery alerts occur, and follow local fire safety codes for comprehensive protection.
